29 July 2014

Unfortunately, the large group of Marines (220) didn't make it down to the port after all as their ship was held up due to repairs.  They were going
to have 12 hours to kill down at the port.  However, there was another group of about 30 loading equipment aboard the ship
to return to Oahu.  They were kind of busy but were able to take a break now and then to come over to enjoy the soft drinks that I took up.

This rather unusual vehicle tows a 120mm mortar.  The rear wheels of the jeep are able to turn so they can "crab" into position
using a joy stick instead of a steering wheel.

Please e-mail Paul at wpkona@yahoo.com  if you can't find a particular picture or you need a hi-rez jpg.  I took a lot of photos that day and can't put them all up.
