After leaving ITR, I went to 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, which
traveled to Southeast Asia, Borneo, etc. Was based on Okinawa. I think
we were the ones that started the vertical assault via helicopters. We
were stationed on the USS Thetis Bay, a jeep helicopter carrier. We made
assaults then returned to the ship. It was known for its great list to
port.

After leaving active duty, I had a football scholarship waiting
for me at UCLA. I hold a doctorate in Behavioral Psychology. I also
attended chef's school and owned my own restaurant. This paid off my
student loans. I was in private practice for 25 years. This included a
short stint with the Sheriffs office, DEA Division. In 1993, I was
found to have MS, this caused my early retirement. Then Prostrate surgery
due to cancer.

My wife Caroline and I just celebrated 43 years of marriage, we have 3
children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 greatgrandchildren.
